What is the problem?
Unfortunately, we realised that the knot of the rubber cord can slip through the hole. This exposes the wooden disc between the two wooden strips, creating a small part that can be swallowed. There is a choking hazard for small children if the wooden disc is swallowed. Only GRIMM'S wooden tweezers sold individually (item no. 42128) or as part of the GRIMM'S ‘Rainbow Bowls Sorting Game’ (item no. 42125) from November 2024 onwards are affected.
What should I do now?
Please do not continue to use the affected tweezers, but destroy them and dispose of them with household waste.
You will automatically receive a replacement from the GRIMM'S dealer from whom you purchased the tweezers. You can view all the information again here.
FAQ Recall Process
Yes, the tweezers from before November 2024, as well as the new tweezers available now, are completely safe and harmless. Due to a slight deviation in the manufacturing process, there was unfortunately a potential risk that the knot could slip through the hole. We have been able to completely eliminate this risk by adapting the process and carrying out additional safety tests.
If you still have the packaging, you will find a sticker on it with the batch number of the affected items. Batches with the numbers 191101 - 200414 are affected, all others are harmless. If in doubt, remove the tweezers from your child's environment as a precaution and you will receive a replacement.
Please ask the giver where he/she purchased the tweezers. You can exchange your goods for new and faultless tweezers from the retailer in question.
